It will work but the design is terrible compared to what I pulled out. First, it is difficult to remove the plug from the shaft. Second, the pin that keeps it open when in use doesn't have a stop, and I often see it closing when you don't want it to. Getting back to the first part, you could just unscrew the entire stopper knot on the old one to clear debris out of the drain and actually use it as a poker to aid in the process. Removing the cork from this thing is agony. The rod is also held in place with a small clip, probably not, but if the thing pops out pull the drain again to fix it. - I would look elsewhere. Oh, it also costs more than others. giggle
