Review on Simple Guide Fresh Water Aquariums by Katherine Peterson

This book is a wonderful and easy-to-read resource for anyone interested in setting up an aquarium. I read it cover to cover. I often refer to it as "my fish bible"! I have loaned this book to friends who have solved common aquarium problems and they have also found it extremely helpful. The purpose of the book is to give you a lot of information BEFORE you buy an aquarium and fish. This will help you avoid common mistakes. However, this book is an excellent resource or "refresher course" for those who are already interested in and passionate about the aquarium hobby. This book gives an overview of the basic equipment of a freshwater aquarium. Although it's a bit about individual species, you may want more specific and specialized books on the species that interest you. Parts on individual species are not very detailed. All in all, this is a fantastic resource and your fish will thank you for this book! Good luck and happy fishing!
