Firstly, this glass will not replace any fixes! - although for such a price you can get fixes of the D series of all focal lengths and get the best quality. Secondly, the weight of this lens is simply not supported by the quality of the output image, and this is even in the absence of dust / moisture protection. Thirdly, the design of this glass does not even resemble, but in fact copies, the same whale 18-55, which is not a plus, not to mention the fact that when the glass is lightly touched and shaken, the trunk of the lens spontaneously rolls back, which is simply unthinkable for such prices. Fourthly, even if this glass is positioned as reportage, it is too flimsy and, again, not protected from weather conditions. Fifth, what struck me the most is the distortion, terrible, wild, which is not corrected by the lens profiles in lr, and often manual correction at 24-35mm does not even help. Summarizing all this, I want to say that this glass was made rather for what it would be, because. little real benefit from it. It makes no sense to buy this glass, it’s better for this money to buy a set of fixes of the D series or one good fix of the G series. But if you still decide to take it, you can console yourself with the fact that the glass really has very good color reproduction, sharpness (for zoom), and it simply holds backlight gorgeously. By the way, due to the terrible distortion and vignette at 2.8, this lens is more preferable to buy for crop. P. S. I took on the D800 P. S. S. I'm not going to sell. Even with all the minuses, I would buy it a second time, but only in addition to 2-3 fixes of the same focal lengths, and not as the only or second lens covering these focal lengths.
