Waste of money. Bad design. You haven't thought about it. It would help if they ran lengthwise from the doors through the back of the apartment rather than across the apartment. The narrow platforms that come with the flats are very slippery for cats and you can't just pull the fabric on without using velcro to hold it. These large platforms are moderately wider than the platforms that come with the apartment. But the only places you can stick them is in the middle because the apartment doors are too wide. You can only use one at a time unless you want to create two separate floors. The point of purchasing an apartment is to allow cats to play and exercise during short-term captivity. We ONLY use apartments for adoption events, quarantine while treating illness, storing kittens overnight during sleep training and for mothers with litters. You can go to Home Depot or a lumber supply store and order a special plywood platform with big cat holes to jump on and secure with drilled holes/tie downs. Then you will have a good cat sleeping and playing area away from the litter box.
