Nice playpen shelves aren't enough when you need to confine a cat or two for more than a few hours, but they solved that problem. I added a second shelf to the middle one in my playpens to double the width and accommodate either food bowls or a large area for the cat to stretch out! Waste of money. Bad design. You haven't thought about it. It would help if they ran lengthwise from the doors through the back of the apartment rather than across the apartment. The narrow platforms that come with the flats are very slippery for cats and you can't just pull the fabric on without using velcro to hold it. These large platforms are moderately wider than the platforms that come with the apartment. But the only places you can stick them is in the middle because the apartment doors…

We bought these shelves after reading reports of problems with them. We had little choice as we couldn't make our own and couldn't find anything affordable. I paid $36 for a set of 3 in an open box. I find the full price absolutely ridiculous, especially since they have issues. Pros: - sturdy metal frame, very unlikely to ever break - shelf size is big enough for a big cat to stretch out - easy to clean CONS: - full price expensive in my opinion (can't find cheaper anywhere, not even on eBay) -
