They are worn on top like non-angled chargers.

I bought these for school use because I physically connect the iPad to my computer for demonstration purposes. My cord was frayed at the end - as always. I thought they would work better and not wear out as quickly, but I was wrong. In theory, the angled connector should work better, but it didn't.
