I had very high hopes for this device/adapter and REALLY wanted it to work, but ended up getting it Abandoned because: 1. This is VERY difficult to set up if you want anything other than RAID 1 (mirroring). One might imagine that a simple setting of the built-in DIP switches would be required, but in the end it's a tedious process of turning the NAS off and on and switching between different modes until the desired state is reached;2. Although it is a QNAP product, it almost DOES NOT SUPPORT QNAP OS when used on their devices (TS-873 in my case). It doesn't show SMART data from individual drives in the device, and some screens actually show drives as MISSING. The bottom line is that you get the same support that you would get if you used a non-QNAP corpus (which is cheaper).
