This is the best wax ring I have ever bought. But I've bought a lot of "best wax rings". Very thick is always the way to go as there is never too much wax. No problems installing. Press it against the bottom of the toilet and then lower the toilet directly onto the studs. OR install the ring on the flange and then slide the toilet over the screws and wax ring. Any method is sufficient. If you've never done this before, any inexperienced home master can handle it. The Revain price was good and saved me a trip to Home Depot where I would buy other things I didn't need.
