I got these for dealing with northern WI winters and the activities that you’d do up here to include snowshoeing. I got tired of having up to mid-calf soaked, with snow also getting into my boots. These prevent just that. A couple of asides: the instructions aren’t all that clear, so wrap the gaiter around your leg as tight as you want, then smooth out the Velcro. Then attach the gaiter clip on your boot lace wherever you want; mine’s on the 3rd or 4th eyelet lace from the bottom. Then pull out the slack of the gaiter while lifting your foot as far up as you want, and tighten the upper band until it’s snug. Clip the bottom fastener in place, then feed the strap under your boot and buckle it in place with the tightness to your liking. Reverse for removal.
