Alerting: D-Link DCH-S1621KT Wi-Fi Water Leak Detector and Alarm Starter Kit Overview

I have walked the smart home route and have used Wi-Fi enabled devices for a variety of purposes. Adding a D-Link DCH-S1621KT Wi-Fi water sensor and a Chinese-made alarm starter kit seemed like a logical next step. I already own D-Link cameras and many Kasa D-Link products, so I'm already familiar with the brand. Setting up the water sensor was easy. Even though I have D-Link cameras, the app I'm using is out of date. To use this sensor I had to install the mydlink app. After installation I logged in and my cameras were available. The app noticed the new sensor and went into setup mode. A few moments later I checked the alarm and sensor with a bowl of water. Both times the alarm went off and I received notifications on my smartphone. I connected the extension cable and sensor cable to the main sensor and then connected the main sensor in my laundry room. I then placed the sensor between two water heaters. My house doesn't have an outside drain for water heaters and so far only one has a sump. The sensor requires 2 AAA batteries (included). I can add additional sensor housings within 300 feet of the main sensor. The D-Link DCH-S1621KT Wi-Fi Water Leak Sensor and Alarm Starter Kit is one of those products that I hope I never need. However, if I have a water leak, I am immediately made aware of the problem. If you're concerned about potential leaks and associated water damage, this starter kit is for you. ► PROS: Easy to install Only one outlet required Sensors can be added 1 year limited warranty ► CONS: I didn't find any
