You may have to fight

I got them working but damn it was a fight. After reading the description, I found that two sizes of inner lids are built into one; Each end works for a different diameter bolt. So, yes, I used the correct end (the wider end since our bolts are 5/8" in diameter). It's hard to describe, but the cylinders grip the studs with three hard lugs on the inside. a lot Space, have zero flex and just wouldn't let me put the cylinder on the stud with ease or even much force.Maybe I could soften them up with a hair dryer who knows. On the other hand, everything could be distorted, I finally solved the problem by pushing various screwdrivers through the cylinder and turning them until parts of these protrusions wore off and the protrusions were pressed lightly against the inside of the cylinder. With a lot of muscular effort, the cylinders flexed enough inside that I could start fitting them onto the studs wanted to get a hammer but didn't want to break the base of my beautiful new toilet) Once those cylinders were in place the exteriors fitted ren covers slightly. However, as I type this, I still have the imprint of the inner cylinders in the palm of my hand. It seems to me that the reviewers who wrote that they were easy to install may have installed the wider end (designed for 5/8" screws). ) to 1/2" screws. Everything looks really nice now that everything is in place. Would I buy them again? I'm not sure.
