I bought this for our Royal Caribbean cruise because I heard many rooms only have one outlet and these rumors are true. I was also concerned that since the RCI is a surge protected outlet, it would grab and destroy it during our landing. I made sure it was clearly visible in our bag when we boarded and no one said anything about it being unauthorized. I hope this helps anyone who may have had this question before. By the way, our ship was the Majesty of the Seas. The outlet itself was fantastic. We used it to run a small fan and hair dryer while also charging our phones and tablets very quickly. I had no issues with the outlet heating up or anything to worry about. However, I turned it off when we were out all day.
