My current car cam is dead, it was small enough to fit right where the broken cam was. If you connect the camera to the reverse lights as instructed, the LEDs will only turn on when you engage reverse gear. I cut off an old RCA connector and plugged into the car's existing wiring harness, connected to the camera, works fantastic. Good video quality and no. You cannot transfer HD picture via RCA cable. It may be HD camera but there is no signal. It doesn't matter that my existing one wasn't HD and I've never heard of a car that has HD video for reversing. Also, duplicate backup lines can be seen in some of the photos in the test. This is because the device viewing the video adds lines on top of the lines the camera is viewing. Follow the instructions, cut the green ribbon and the lines added by the camera will be removed. You now only have one set of parking lines. It is very good that the manufacturer has made it customizable.
