Review on DOEATOOW Monoxide Detector Aircraft Vehicle by Justin Gerrero

I directly compared the DOEATOW CO-5 with the much more expensive Sensorcon Inspector Industrial Pro. I use the Sensorcon for life and death situations as all my scuba tanks need to be checked to ensure the compressor is filling them with clean air that is less than 5ppm carbon monoxide or better than zero! I've attached a couple of photos, I tested them both outdoors and they both showed zero as expected. I've tried several direct exhaust fumes from a generator and they both showed pretty similar readings: 350 and 360ppm. The real test uses low numbers, so I bagged some of the exhaust and diluted it with fresh air until it was under 10ppm. As you can see, both devices read within 1ppm of each other. (Sorry for the foggy picture, the bag was fogged up by the exhaust). If I found a bug in Doeatoow, then the boot calibration time at power on was long. The calibration takes about 3 minutes. Sensorcon lasts 5 seconds. While both devices work in the same way and are about the same size, Doeatoow appears to be designed to be left in a car, boat, basement or small plane and just let it run until the battery dies after 9 months, and then change the battery and switch it back to monitoring. The Sensorcon is more suited to being strapped to a belt when going to an industrial work site or for quick testing. Considering that Doeatoow is currently $109 and Sensorcons is $160, at $109 that's a really good deal. the same accuracy as more expensive devices.
