Half of them won't hold up on a perfectly flat surface, and the ones that fail or break within a few weeks. Even the smallest imperfections on your surface disappear immediately. In addition, the hooks are brittle. If you have something attached to it and need to remove it, it's best to do it as slowly and carefully as possible, otherwise it will come loose. On the other hand, your non-working hook is quite transparent, so your hook-filled trash can doesn't appear as full of errors as it really is.
