This is a great product for those who drive cars that do not support bluetooth connectivity. I drive a 2009 Ford Escape that doesn't have Bluetooth and I wanted a device that would help keep the cords from cluttering up. The product looks crisp, is small and delivers excellent sound quality. However, I encountered two downsides when using the Firefly chat. The first downside is that when my phone is plugged in and no music is playing, there is a high-pitched tone that can be very distracting and annoying. There was a simple solution to this problem and it was to buy soundproofing. I bought a $9 MPOW Ground Loop Noise Isolator and the squeaking stopped. However, this changes the overall price from $36 to $45, which is definitely more expensive. The second downside is the automatic connection that Firefly claims to offer. My phone was never able to auto connect to Firefly which resulted in me having to press a small button on Firefly itself. The button on the Firefly is used for both calling and reconnecting to a previously connected device. It's not too much of a hassle for me and I like that I can only press the button once to re-pair the phone instead of having to go into the phone's settings every time. The only reasonable reason I don't think I can connect automatically is that I have to use the car charger's USB port for the device instead of the built-in USB port in my car. I don't have a built-in USB port, so I have no choice but to use the charging port. I should clarify that I can't prove this is the case either, why can't I connect automatically because I couldn't test the built in USB port. I can only guess. In addition, this is a fantastic product. I really don't mind having to press a button to play music every time I get in the car and the sound quality compared to other receivers I've used is phenomenal. *** UPDATE *** After using the product for only three months, more defects emerged. First, the adapter never automatically connects (as mentioned earlier). However, pressing the little button on the adapter itself to just plug my phone back in isn't that hard and I didn't mind. UNTIL it doesn't work anymore! Now when I want to connect my phone to stream music, I have to go into my phone's settings, turn off Bluetooth, then turn it back on, THEN finally connect the phone to the adapter. EVEN THEN sometimes it doesn't work and I have to physically unplug and plug the Firefly back in and then go through the phone's settings to pair it. I live in the north where the weather is cold and I don't want to spend 5 minutes fiddling with the device just to play music in my car. What is worse? The cold now generally prevents the adapter from working! All I hear these days when trying to stream music through the receiver is pops, cuts, and tiny snatches of audio. I strongly recommend looking at other articles.
