Okay, my gateway computer is a bit dated, but it's a competent I-7 system that serves me well. It's suitably upgraded and comes with SATA drives. My last problem was that the flash drive I plugged in was filling up to a level that was causing the machine to become unstable. In tax cases, instability was absolutely the last thing I needed, so I decided to just move the image data to an aWD USB stick since it's relatively new and held a few hundred gigabytes or more. I said my computer was only USB 2.0 so it took many hours to transfer 300+ gigabytes of files. So I ordered a FebSmart USB 3.0 card to avoid such slow transfer speeds. As expected, it arrived quickly and on time. The promised speeds seemed too good to be true and I didn't run any speed tests so this is a good quality review. A lot of data from the backup drive seemed so fast as if I was doing it on a local flash drive. I am very, very happy! This is a simple connection path that I will use soon when cloning my system drive to a larger one, but that will be after I pay my taxes. Wow!
