I bought this because the colander we used to have had holes big enough for small diameter pasta to slide through like angel hair. This sieve was amazing! It fits in every round pot we have and the only thing to remember is to pull the strainer forward once it's engaged, otherwise your food could fall out rather than the strainer. Otherwise it works for everything. We use it for draining pasta, meat, boiled eggs, if it needs to be drained through a colander or just any way, this is the tool for you! I also use it as a spout when I need to pour hot liquid from one pot to another and it's amazing.
