Review on Insulated Stainless Steel Coffee Travel Mug by Hydro Flask - Reusable with Wide Flex Sip Lid by Hunter Schneider

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Check the red gasket or you could ruin the shirt

UPDATE: It turns out the leak is due to the red gasket being installed upside down. Unfortunately there is nothing in the documentation describing the required alignment, but there is a seal on the top of the gasket. Put it in tight down and you have a leak. I have attached photos showing the correct installation. I have raised my rating to 4 stars. I'd give it a 5 if it actually held 16 ounces (the screw tab on the underside of the lid prevents that), and the documentation clearly explains the seal orientation requirement. I've also changed my mind about the return, even though I bought the 18oz Yeti Rambler (which I really like). First Review ------- I had such high hopes for this mug. I've been using a Starbucks stainless steel travel mug for 20 years with a carabiner handle that's finally getting too annoying (and ugly) to keep going. no questions. I should have been less optimistic I think. There is a red silicone seal between the top of the mouthpiece and the screw cap. I assume its purpose is to prevent leakage. It fails. No disassembly and fiddling with the lid will prevent liquid from seeping between the top and screw-on part, right from FIRST TIME USE. I have a Hydro Flask water bottle that I love. These are premium products so I can't imagine how this design passed quality control. So disappointed. and the return process began.
