I've used them for role play and also for dancing. The cut pieces are so easy because we stack the jump rings that attach the bells to the other joints on top of each other, rather than soldering them and leaving them with jagged edges so they can hook into a lot of the other fabrics I've used , and pull the strings. If you're trying to buy this be sure to take the time to fit any adapter rings onto it, of which there are many, or solder the jump rings that are already there.
