I bought this item as a Christmas present for my 1.5 year old baby. she loved it. First, she wanted to make a necklace for one of her classmates. We found the beads large enough to be easily strung. I was a bit disappointed in the thread. It looks like a very long string, which means you have to put many, many, many, many beads on it to make it look full and beautiful. Also, there are "corners” at the end of the thread that make knotting difficult. The thread looks like a 4 or 6 inch long string. We could tie it better without the corners. I think it has to be tied somehow. The box is very nice, but without a lid. Don't open it unless you have a large ziplock bag to put the beans in. Or at least another box to put the beans in. I enjoy crafting and I found this product very easy to use.
