I think it's worth the money. For digitization of archive of films - an ideal variant. If anything, I have something to compare with - the experience of scanning negatives I have had it since 1998, my first scanner is the legendary Coolscan LS-2022. Got pros: Speed (nimble). Very good scan quality. Compact. Includes slide calibrator, negative frames and slides. It also comes with a handy high quality carry bag. Even the supplied software (SilverFast) - after the first "fu-fu-fu" - turns out to be surprisingly good. Yes, it doesn't know how, like VueScan, to make a custom mask for a specific film. but given the already wired profiles, adaptive detection and subtraction of the orange mask, the Color Cast Removal function and automatic color/level correction in Photoshop - a headache with tons of settings, IMHO , just not needed. Cons: The included software in multi-pass mode scans 1. only in 2 passes 2. both passes scan and IR too (why?) But these are trifles, and not a problem, in fact, of the scanner.
