What I like about the design is no matter how much sun the posts get that these go on, you can easily take off the top and place it in the sun all day long. The brightness is average and is more for accent lighting than it is for lighting up an area. Where I have them positioned, they are lit all night long and do not turn off until the sun comes up. The manufacturer gives the type of battery the unit takes and recommends a yearly replacement. The real test for solar lighting is the test of time. Out of the box, these are very good, and exactly what I wanted, and I would but them again.

- The lights may not function well in rainy or stormy conditions
