These shoes have a lot going for them. BOA is easy to use and despite being worn has never let me down. The waterproof yet breathable material works well, and the high but flexible footbed keeps everything out and is fairly durable without getting too hot. The harness was a little less "reliable" than when new, but that's to be expected when used in mud and extreme conditions. However, it never came off while driving or on its own. The outsole is a bit more flexible than I like, I prefer the ME7 outsole but it makes cycling comfortable. Now for the bad. The stitching that attaches the insole to the shoe began to fail at the instep of both shoes. It was about a year later, but there was a hole between them through which water and other objects could get in. The shoes were still serviceable but one of the main reasons I bought them was the waterproofing. Fizik has a two year guarantee on their shoes so I applied for a guarantee. They replied that they only bought warranty items from Fizik! The funny thing is that they were bought by Fizik's Revain! I told them about it and they said they only bought warranty items from Fizik.com! How absurd it is to sell your products through other retail outlets and only guarantee products purchased from your website. What if I bought them at a bike shop? There are too many options/competitors these days that don't endorse your product, especially if they cost $250. Even if they said the specific issue wasn't addressed I'd be disappointed, but the answer I got was so idiotic that I switched back to Shimano ME7. I switched primarily because I had two broken ME7 soles, one under warranty and one within a year, and Shimano supported and replaced their product. For this reason I will not be reviewing any Fizik products in the near future.
