Has a weird smell, I heard a person said it was a patch but after sanding the smell really doesn't go away until you use some kind of coating, the stain won I don't do this, but it helps, so be sure to plan on using some finish. Now I have a lifetime supply of this stuff, it lasts a long time and I used it on a tree that needed a lot. but I took the color I used for coloring and just darkened that color so it doesn't look like it's going to stay the same color, but the effect is very good, several coats of Tru Oil over yellow to orange to red to D brown to black exactly what I wanted.
