Review on 📸 Sigma 15mm f/2.8 EX DG Diagonal Fisheye Lens for Nikon SLR Cameras: Captivate with Distinctive Fisheye Effects by Louis Nakashima

First, to a previous reviewer who called this lens a "garbage lens" because it has "the most severe distortion I've ever experienced": You really are only paying Hundreds of dollars on a fisheye lens without knowing what a fisheye lens is? Serious? In case anyone is confused, this lens is nothing but a regular lens. It provides a distorted image that can be quite unique and interesting when cleverly composed (see example images on the description page). The Sigma 15mm fisheye lens is well made and delivers a sharp image. It features an aperture ring that locks at f/22 for use with modern cameras that set aperture electronically. The lens cap is a sleeve that fits over the built-in lens hood. Oddly enough, there is a removable lens cap on the front of this piece. I don't know why one would take off the cap and leave the case open as it causes serious vignetting. I like this lens because of the new creative possibilities it offers. I love how you can get so much context around your subject, but beware, objects in the viewfinder are closer than they appear. It's easy for your pet or child to put their wet nose on your lens (which you can't protect with a filter). I recommend this lens to the photographer who has everything. You won't use it on every shot, but it offers a whole new way of looking at the world.
