This cable and switch was perfect for my DIY UV lamp sterilization project. I simply routed the cable to the box, screwed the UV lamp into the socket, closed the box and I was good to go. The long cord also made it possible to turn the lamp on and off without the risk of approaching it. The only minor downside was that the switch isn't marked to tell you which position is on or off. So I had to test it with a regular lightbulb first and then mark the OFF position with a permanent marker so I knew when the UV light was safely off before opening the box.
