Review on 🏐 MIKASA V200W Volleyball by Aaron Webb

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The sweet spot between melted 5000 and mva 200.

I really like this ball. I will compare to molten5000 and mva200 as these are the two balls I play with the most. Overall: amazing! I prefer that to the other two. The ball looks like you've combined molten5000 and mva200 together: the best of both worlds. You can definitely take it and play ball like molten5000. So good for advanced/expert users. It may take some time for beginners to get used to as the ball doesn't help you as much as a melted 5000 or a traditional vball. You really have to use your own strength to hit this ball. While it has a MUCH easier learning curve than the mva200, it's now MUCH less jittery. Touch: Same feeling as mva200. Not rubber like molten5000. Not too soft, but not too hard, grippy. Sweat/Moisture: Much better than the mva200 but when you have a group of sweaty people passing the ball it gets slippery. Still not as good as Molten5000 as I feel the rubber material just absorbs everything. Setter: The grips are very light and very easy to adjust, just a natural grip and release feel. Lighter than mva200 with more panels and better than molten5000. Hitters: Amazing that maybe mva200 is better. I love hitting this ball. The feel and feedback is amazing. You really have to put a lot of power into your swing to make it go faster, which is great because as long as you get your wrist flexing properly you can swing as hard as you want and it just goes and sticks. At molten5000 I feel like I have to step back a bit because the ball itself will help your shot or it will go further than expected (out!). Server: Crazy mva200 no longer floats/falls. With larger panels, it doesn't float or fall like the mva200. It's more like molten 5000 but will pop/fall from time to time if hit in a certain way like mva200. No more easy points =P. The jump servers will love this because you just turn your back and anything goes. Passersby: WAAAYYYY easier to pass than mva200, more in line with molten5000. I rarely hit this ball. The enlarged panels have increased surface area, cushion swimmers/drops and won't slip/slip off your forearms. You'll need to use some of your strength to get through, rather than relying on punch speed to help you. The ball is hard and definitely not soft. The DEF people complained about this aspect. This can lead to bruising if you are not used to harder balls. Hope that helps. I understand why they changed mva200. Pros who play with it definitely tremble less. The instructions are much better now. Now my favorite ball. Enjoy!
