If you have a modern vehicle that has been manufactured in the last 15 years or so you may need to read and reset codes in systems other than the engine electronics. These devices do this with almost every brand, although I haven't tried all of them personally. As for me, I wanted to be able to test and reset the Airmatic suspension system on my Mercedes GL450. does it well enough I can check ride height, read/clear codes and have limited system control. It met my needs and is very handy for quick troubleshooting of many vehicle systems. I look forward to trying this device on many other vehicles but for now it has met my needs and saved me a lot of time and effort reading and clearing codes in the car.
