My dogs fight so hard I ended up ordering more so each dog has their own heating pad plus cat. When not lying on them, they stay at room temperature and then warm up when stressed. I was curious if they would be open 24/7 if my electric bill went up, but it's been 2 months and it hasn't increased at all. A couple of my dogs are old and this has really helped with old bone pain. I would recommend it to anyone looking for something to keep their dog warm or whatever. I throw a dog blanket over their dog beds and they don't mess with them at all.
