I am writing this review as a Mac user. I connect this monitor to a 17" Macbook Pro from late 2011. Specifications of this machine: CPU: Intel Core i7 2.5 GHz Memory: 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM Hard disk: 1 TB Crucial Brand SSD Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024 MBI, as a Mac user I was concerned because Dell does NOT officially support Macs for this line Search the forums and Dell pretty bluntly says they don't support it.They really won't even fix problems. They just claim that they Mac don't support. So I was hesitant to buy this monitor. I've been looking for more screen real estate ever since I got into graphic design and video editing. I also didn't want to pay for an Apple monitor when there was something that would work as well .First I bought this 25" and two 27" from this range. I have two of the 27" in my office and one of the 25" in my office. I ended up keeping the 25" for myself and two 27" to mei I gave it away to a colleague because I was much happier with the 25" than the 27". They are basically identical except for screen size and pixel density. The plus points for me were excellent color rendering and good contrast. My main shortcomings only concerned 27 inch monitors. Based on my usage, I personally find that a 25" screen is much better than a 27" screen for graphics and video editing due to the higher pixel density. Images on the 27-inch model are crisp and clear. However, text in Photoshop is quite pixelated when it's really small, to the point where I went insane and resorted to my 17-inch MacBook Pro screen to view the images I was editing. I ended up trading one of my colleagues for my 27" to use their 25" and now I'm VERY happy. Unless you edit a lot of text in Photoshop, FCP, or iMovie, a 27-inch monitor is easily a 5-star monitor. For me there are only 4 stars for the 27 inch because of the display of text in different magnifications. levels in these applications. While the 25 inch screen had no visible pixels and I had less mouse movement and still had plenty of screen real estate. When looking at various monitors in this size and price range, I considered sizes up to 34 inches and I'm glad I didn't go that big. For a desktop monitor, I find a 25 inch 1440p monitor to be ideal. My colleagues aren't complaining about 27" monitors, but I know they're just glad they're not stuck on their 13" screens on their laptops anymore. And none of them use theirs for text editing in these programs. I'm very happy with the 25 inch monitor and for the price (I got it from Revain for just under $400) you can't go wrong. The 27-inch model was about $100 more (just under $500), and I don't think that's an extra 2 inches. I would have preferred higher pixel density and no visible pixels. If you're doing graphic editing that includes text, definitely go for the 25-inch model and save $100. If you don't do text editing and you have the budget, the 27" monitor is a great monitor that can claim 5 stars. 25" = 5 stars 27" = 4 stars.
