The "teeth" inside that hold the bits are barely held in place by tiny springs. If something (e.g. a big beat) bothers it a little, that's it. You can't even get to them to put them back in place and the entire product is useless. I thought the idea was very good for things where a full size drill is too much power and bulk (small projects etc.). worked but still hard to use (ratchet design would still be much better). However, I only used it a couple of times before it broke. Unfortunately when I look at them I think many similar products will be just as bad so I would recommend taking a closer look. In particular, I think the biggest culprit is how the entire adjuster moves up and down on the long shaft. It should be more fractional. There are a couple of adapters (mainly for drill presses that use a chuck to work without a chuck) which I suspect will be a lot stiffer and I'll get one of those next time.
