After using 18-105 for a while, I decided to treat myself and purchased it. I noticed a significant improvement right away. The lens has better color reproduction, and the picture is now much crisper. With a separate note, I'd like to comment on how quickly this lens can focus—so it's quick that it's almost frightening! Ultimately, we were able to appreciate the tracking focus mode, and even while using the conventional focus mode, the lens focused very swiftly and almost never missed its target. Another pleasantly surprising element was the perfect operation of the stabilizer. When you take pictures using the program auto mode in low light, the camera may choose rather slow shutter speeds. When you enter the playback menu and see values of 1/80 or shorter, then out of habit (developed after using 18-105), you think that the result is a daub, but with careful viewing, you find a pretty sharp shot, which is good news. My personal opinion is that the bokeh produced by the lens is extremely lovely. Even though I didn't utilize any rapid solutions, and there isn't anything else to compare it to, informed people agree with my assessment that the bokeh is fairly acceptable. When you first hold the lens in your hands, you are able to get an immediate sense of the high quality with which it was constructed. A zoom and focus ring that is not very loose, which is, in my opinion, a major plus. A lot of people have mentioned that the lens is dark, however this is not a flaw but rather an intentional design feature, in addition to having a reasonable weight and size. The minimum focusing distance of 1.5 meters was another aspect of the camera that required some getting used to. There are times when it is necessary to change the subject. The money was well spent, and I do not have the slightest bit of second thoughts about making the acquisition.
