Crazy fast good for storage

100% recommended. Arrived and installed this evening. I've been following its release since I read about it. It just so happens that I checked Thanksgiving and all of a sudden it was available. Not only was it affordable, but it was priced the same as a regular Rocket 4 drive ($199 for 1TB) and was $30 less than the competing Samsung 980 Pro. So I spent the difference on an affordable Sabrent NVME heatsink ($24) available from Revain (if you plan to use one of these drives, you really need a heatsink for optimal performance). Cloning my system drive was easy. Sabrent offers a version of Acronis, but most other popular tools would work as well. Reboot and done. As soon as I turned my computer back on after the installation, I noticed that the boot time decreased by a few seconds. It went from a power outage to a windows boot spin and to a login prompt in less than 15 seconds. I've used Sabrent Rocket gen3 in this slot before and it worked fine, but it's on another level. I did a sanity check and verified everything was fine using Sabrent's Rocket Control Center, and when everything was fine I ran my first test (truncating the above results). It's just insanely fast. It really made a big difference in opening and loading apps, large video files open almost instantly and my next test will be VM performance, but I wanted to write this for anyone who has doubts. While I agree with the argument that PICE 4 Gen 4 drives will most likely NOT make a huge difference compared to fast Gen 3 drives, this new line of Sabrent, 980 Pros, WD sn850 ultra-fast drives ABSOLUTELY offers real usability differences. and productivity. Combined with a heatsink, it idles at 32°C and never gets above 39°C under load. To see this kind of performance, you also need to install it in a PCIe 4.0-compatible M.2 slot, and most of these are currently only found on AMD x570 motherboards. Even with boards that have 2 M.2 slots, make sure you choose one that connects to the 4.0 bus. This is often the slot closest to the processor socket. More boards come with 2 m.2 slots, and in many cases only one is PCIE 4.0. It works in other slots but you won't see the advertised speeds. I worked in PC and IT before PATA 33 drives hit the market and always wondered when we would see the days of instant boot. Well, we're very close with this generation of discs. Finally.
