Review on Xantrex C40 Charge Controller by Ricardo Knight

I bought this for my PV system consisting of 5 100w modules, a 1500w sine wave inverter and a 250ah battery. The controller comes with default settings for a 12V charge controller (although it can be configured for 12, 24, 48 and load controllers etc.). It comes with a thick detailed manual in real English and has internal adjustments for bulk charge and float charge levels. Installation took less than 15 minutes (4 connections plus installation) and everything works very well. With a 500w panel source, the heatsink doesn't even get warm and the batteries seem to switch between bulk (14.5v) and float (13.8v) with great efficiency. I set bulk and float charge levels based on my batteries with easy to read potentiometers in the unit. I will definitely buy this controller again if the need arises.
