Essential for any BMW owner without A2DP streaming but with USB/Aux option

Love this thing. I have a 2007 E92 335i. All 335 models come with Logic 7 audio and my variant comes with USB/aux-in, iDrive navigation and Bluetooth. Unfortunately, BMW was very late with A2DP game streaming, so in-car Bluetooth is only for phone calls. This device is basically a WMA1000 with a Y-cable already built in. I just bought this unit and it didn't come with a Y cable so this was the best choice as a WMA1000 + Y cable would cost more than this unit. I use this with my iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8.1. Installing this item couldn't be easier. Simply lift the center console cover and connect to the USB and AUX sockets. At this point, approach your phone and pair it using the code 0000 during the pairing process. Set your car's audio input to USB and you're done. Follow the work forwards and backwards with the steering wheel or the path selector on the control panel. Pause/play is weird but not this product because of BMW. You must press the mute button to pause/play. Not a smart setup, but it works. The sound quality is very good. The block connects almost instantly (since the car wakes up as soon as I enter it). Once paired, it will automatically start playing the most recently used audio (be it iPod, Pandora, Sirius Streaming, etc.). I've only had it for a few days, but during that time I've taken many short trips - this device was 100% synced every time. I don't get any album art on my CCC iDrive installation. I'm getting artist/song info even though BMW implemented this display pretty poorly. I assume that devices with newer CIC or NBT systems display information better. My phone has no problem syncing to Tune2Air and factory Bluetooth at the same time. When I receive a call, the current sound is paused and the call resumes immediately. Navi intervenes without problems. To be honest, it works so well you might think it's an OEM. where the rubber mat is, there is space). I still can, but I have to cut a piece of plastic to do it, or I can buy a 1" extension cord. Update 3/2/15: A few weeks ago I had a problem with my device. My iPhone 6 Plus connected fine, but nothing else worked (pause, fast forward, rewind, or track info in iDrive). I've tried resetting all settings on the phone, booting into safe mode, removing all bluetooth connections, etc., but nothing solved this issue. The funny thing is that my 6 Plus has no trouble using these controls on other Bluetooth devices. I connected my work phone to Tune2Air (standard iPhone 6) and it worked fine. I submitted a query to the poorly done VisseO website, so I'll update the results once I know more. Change: 02/16/20. So my previous Bluetooth issues turned out to be iPhone related (both iPhones mentioned, the new Apples replaced it with AND my wife's iPhone). We ended up having other issues with the iPhone, and by early 2016 we had switched from Apple devices to Android devices. Never again had problems with Bluetooth streaming and we don't miss Apple products at all. Now let's get to the device itself. Works great. Looks like what they are selling now is from a different manufacturer and looks similar. I only recently discontinued it when I upgraded to an Android 9.0 Snapdragon CCC replacement device with built-in Bluetooth (although I just connect my phone to a hotspot and use apps directly on the device that support Bluetooth OEM for calls). A huge improvement, but also a much more expensive option than this and a lot more installation work.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Bad set

Works great........15% of the time. The other 85% is pure frustration.
