I bought this heater for the sole purpose of mounting it on my bedroom wall as a semi-permanent winter heater. Out of the box looks and functionality were good. I rode it on stands for several days to check its performance and safety. After that I moved on to the next step of fixing it to the wall. This is where it gets risky. The instruction manual that came with it doesn't go into great detail on wall mounting and after reading it my common sense tingled at the thought that 2 small/weak L shaped brackets should hold this large heater in place but I gave up when in doubt, followed the instructions and prepped my wall for mounting using my own wall anchors (the screws/anchors provided are not good enough). Summary? The Laws of Physics vs Engineers De'longhi = 1:0. Using the included wall brackets, the heater requires a person standing 24 x 7 x 365 to hold it in place. Otherwise it will fall, breaking flimsy wall mounts and crushing itself and anything underneath. Be aware that De'Longhi is selling this heater wall mounted, which is not just a blatant lie, it's a lie. may result in serious injury/danger. I suspect most users just use them as freestanding heaters using the stands that come with them. So if you are looking for an elegant wall heating panel like me, you will come across the same conundrum that I have now; Option 1) Create a better wall mounting solution: 1.a.) Create a thin profile (floating) shelf to allow the heater to stand on its stands. Then drill and screw the posts to the shelf. Use something like a thong to secure the top to the wall (while maintaining the space required). Cons: ugly, takes up a lot more space, time and money. 1.b.) Make special metal brackets that have 4 mounting points AND adequate space between the heater and the wall. Cons: I'm not Alec Steele, so I can't willy-nilly custom make small but strong metal clips. 1.c.) Modify the TV wall bracket to securely mount the heater to the wall. This *should* provide a better solution BUT since the panels are made from thin and thin sheet metal it's just not possible without a stronger and stiffer backplate to replace the heater. 2) Return this heater and buy something better ( actually designed). securely and firmly attached to the wall). TL; DR: Buy this heater if you don't plan to wall mount it.
