Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Zoo Med Nocturnal Infrared Incandescent Heat Lamp 75W - Optimal Thermal Solution for Nighttime Heating by Sandy Taylor

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great infrared lamp!

I had 3 of these lamps. I got the first one from a now defunct pet store. Unfortunately, it turned out to be defective and burned out after two days. I took it back to the pet store and they refused to replace it. They just offered me 10% off another lightbulb! (At their price it was only $1.90. EXPENSIVE lamp!) I contacted Zoo Med, they asked me to send a copy of the receipt and bar code from the box and they sent me a replacement which I used as a heater . for my guinea pigs (guinea pigs) for more than two winters. As I increased my herd, I got another heat lamp. This time I ordered it online and only paid about $20 for the entire assembly! (Lamp, Fixture and Shipping.) I TRUST Zoo Med. I know that with electrical components it is always possible to receive faulty units. BUT Zoo Med STAND FOR THEIR PRODUCTS. These lamps create a moderately hot spot 15 inches (38.10 cm) above the bottom of the cage. (ALWAYS leave part of the cage UNLIT with a heat lamp so the animal can find a cooler place to avoid overheating.) This lamp can be used for reptiles, birds, guinea fowl, rabbits and many other animals. It is ideal for nocturnal animals as they cannot see red light so it does not disrupt their circadian rhythm NOTE: This refers to the RUBY RED lamp, NOT the white infrared lamp.

Pros
  • Very little visible light so as not to disturb your pet's sleep cycle
Cons
  • Big and chunky
