Burnt out in less than 12 hours

I ordered this in July to have on hand. I installed a lightbulb in my tank on October 5th and it blew out that night. Not even 12 hours have passed! I can't return it because the return window is closed. I've had no problems with these bulbs before, so I guess I just got lucky with a bad or damaged bulb (it was packaged very well, must be a manufacturer problem).

Pros
  • Spot reflector concentrates more heat on your reptile and minimizes - 75W
Cons
  • Some difficulties

My snake seems to love it

I bought three of these over a year ago and the first one is still working. I live in Florida so I only use the heat lamp after I've fed, but I'm still impressed. When I buy these from the pet store they only last a few months. I have a caged 2.5 foot tall California Kingsnake. I push aside the heat lamp on the top screen. The warmth seems perfect and since I have it in my bedroom I like that it's not too bright.

Pros
  • Great for nighttime surveillance of all types of captive animals
Cons
  • Compatibility

it works perfectly and it's only half as hot as usual.

, it works great and puts out half the heat like a traditional heat lamp. This pear is also smaller which I like and is just perfect for adding some warmth to the hens on those very cold nights. It gives off a "red" light to keep my chickens from sleeping. I had to replace this with a ceramic heating mat that doesn't emit any light and now the chicks sleep through the night. I love this heating pad and would buy it again if needed.

Pros
  • Ideal 24 hour heat source for all kinds of reptiles, amphibians, birds and small animals
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Great infrared lamp!

I had 3 of these lamps. I got the first one from a now defunct pet store. Unfortunately, it turned out to be defective and burned out after two days. I took it back to the pet store and they refused to replace it. They just offered me 10% off another lightbulb! (At their price it was only $1.90. EXPENSIVE lamp!) I contacted Zoo Med, they asked me to send a copy of the receipt and bar code from the box and they sent me a replacement which I used as a heater . for my guinea pigs (guinea pigs) for

Pros
  • Very little visible light so as not to disturb your pet's sleep cycle
Cons
  • Big and chunky
