This is not the old generation version, these are the new ones that make a loud hum. If you want to hear when the lights are on, these bulbs will let you know. I contacted Philips customer service about the buzzing. The rep told me it must be an electrical issue, 100% fake. The first generation Philips LED bulbs, which had holes at the top, didn't buzz in the same fixture with the same Lutron LED+ switch. I waited too long to get them back so now I have 8 buzzing lightbulbs. Lamps in the old version were silent. I really like the warm dimming effect, but the hum gets louder when the lights are dimmed. Such a disappointment. I bought and returned the 100 watt equivalent version, thinking maybe there would be less noise with the 75 watt equivalent bulbs, but I was wrong - same annoying buzz. I do not recommend these noisy lightbulbs.
