Review on Nokian Tires Hakka Black 2 SUV 265/50 R19 110Y summer by Kiril Hristov ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Overall good, but expected more.

Car: 388-horsepower Mercedes GL500 Size 275/50 R20. A cold 2.3 bar pressure. Since this is my first summer driving Merce, I can't make an apples-to-apples comparison to my old tires on Kruzak, despite the fact that their sizes are nearly identical. There are no complaints about how it drives or stops. It is always manageable, whether on brand-new tires or old ones. Nokian, as usual, performs admirably on wet pavement. Although there is still a slight sensitivity to rutting, compared to the previous Hakka Blue 2 SUV on Kruzak, it is not so bad. You can confidently make sharp turns at a good speed without the car deviating at all from the trajectory (only the director in the back begins to complain that he is hanging like a sausage and immediately upsets the excitement of driving). Tires have great stopping power (cue the collective gasp of horror). I'd like to stress the importance of the pads once more. After replacing it with a knockoff, I discovered that Merce's brakes were ineffective. After switching back to the factory pads, the car now stops between 1.5 and 2 meters shorter. I'm not going to complain about the noise level because, you know, Merc is loud. Comfort-wise, despite its air suspension, the Merce still responds fairly brutally to road bumps when compared to the Kruzak. Whereas you can go as fast as you like on Kruzak, the speed limit on Merce is 20 kilometers per hour. Therefore, it is challenging for me to reach a clear judgment regarding this metric. In general, I'd prefer a softer texture, but I know that would lead to rapid wear and tear. In terms of use. Traveled 31,000 kilometers (km) during the season. Driving is done in a relaxed manner. Every five kilometers I ran, as usual, I switched the wheels around. Before proceeding front to back, try the diagonal. Because of this, by season's end, tire wear is not uniform. Apparently, Merce's rear tires wear out sooner, so you should rotate them every 2,000 to 3,000 miles. After all, the Nokian summer would not be complete without the age-old problem of tread rubber splitting and crumbling. This issue remains constant despite all other variables. Here is a photo comparison I took of Hakki Black in 2022 and today. Having the same issue As a whole, I do not think this is a great tire. Tires covered by the manufacturer's warranty are not being replaced because the cracks are too big and unsafe.

Pros
  • Very good handling with new tires, adequate with worn ones; superb braking; quiet and not overly harsh ride quality. The green wall decals with the company names are safe.
Cons
  • Tread rubber splitting and crumbling is a summer Nokian's mortal enemy. The Black model's greatest vulnerability is in what Lightly affected by ruts in the road
