🚲 Optimized Bell Bicycle Trunk Rack Review

I would never recommend this product. It's useless. My bike crashed due to poor rack design. Rubber mounts slide off the rack itself, causing the bike to drag across the road. And if you don't notice it right away, you could ruin your tires and maybe even your rims. Not to mention your bike could fall completely.

The bike rack is not strong, it is NOT stable, it is not easy to assemble and the worst thing is that the straps don't even fit my bike frame. The only frame they are long enough for is a 6 year old. I am very angry and regret that I never spent money on this product joke. You could at least mention that this only applies to expensive, lightweight, narrow frames that not everyone has access to.

The top and bottom hooks don't fit my SUV. Before purchasing I checked their website to make sure it was compatible between the trunk and my car. The hooks on the sides scratch the paint. Soft bumpers protected the car well. Folds up fairly easily. I don't like that bikes are only secured with a small piece of Velcro - even the instructions recommend using a bungee cord in addition to the rack. Am I not paying for this rack to store my bikes?

Used on Acura MDX. It worked well, but I'm not sure I'll use it again with an Acura MDX on long trips. The part of the tailgate where the top straps attach is plastic, not metal (an auto part, not a hook). It could carry the weight of two bicycles. I have a Volvo XC60 that fits better in this trunk. The top mount does rest on the glass, but judging by the fact that the picture shows the exact scenario, I find it more convenient to use. The stand itself is very easy to install and remove.

Got my bike rack in the mail tonight. he was wrong! The handrail that holds the bikes will NOT slide all the way up to the locked position because one of the black metal channels is too narrow. This piece of metal was bent about 1/4 inch and it already had metal/abrasions exposed! I hate this thing. it leaves/leaves marks on the trunk of my car where the rubber pads meet the top of the trunk. It also doesn't work well at high speeds. I had to pull over on the 55 mile freeway to try and sit down a bit more.
