I bought this product knowing that Mishimoto makes quality products. New direct injection engines suffer from intake valve deposits, so I decided to protect my newly purchased ND MX5 Miata with a Mishimoto trap. Well, a little research after a hasty purchase revealed the location, size and method of draining the catch below the base. Many people have reported a strong smell of oil due to poor construction. The nail in the coffin for me was that Engineering Explained's Jason Fenske didn't install it on his supercharged ND MX5 Miata. If Jason doesn't need a trap, then neither do I.
