Review on πŸ”³ Tenax Marble Polishing Compound Powder by Marc Hawkins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Saved my travertine floor and sanity!

A full bottle of citrus elixir spilled onto our travertine floor, leaving a huge, highly visible etch trail. I tried EVERYTHING to fix the etch stain - every shine spray, enhancer, and sealer I could get at my local hardware store and major hardware store. Neither product removed the etch mark. I ordered this product online as I couldn't find it in any hardware store. I followed the instructions in the "Susan" review. It worked great! I highly recommend using this product with an electric buffer. I used an electric manual car polisher that I bought at a local hardware store for about $40. First I lightly sanded the etched travertine with #400 sandpaper and wiped away any dust/residue. Then I used this product with electric buffer. I polished the product in travertine, starting with the consistency of toothpaste and continuing to polish the same area until it took on a liquid, greasy consistency. Requires several minutes of continuous buffing for each area. Using an electric buffer with this product will make a mess, but cleans up easily with a broom and damp mop/rag. I was only able to polish the etched travertine tiles and the final shine matched the unfinished areas. It was a relief not having to polish the whole floor! I noticed that the review mentions that this product causes coughing. Personally, I did not notice any strong or unpleasant smells when opening the container. I wore a face mask when buffing with the product and had no problems. This product (and the "Susan" review with guide) was an absolute lifesaver!
