We needed a cover because our dog likes to lean on the console while standing on the center floorboard of our SUV causing his claws to scratch the console cover. As you can see from the photo, this replacement cover is about three inches shorter than the existing console cover, but the replacement thickness is good enough to withstand dog claws. This product is very easy to install thanks to two elastic straps that go through the existing console cover.
