I bought these for my mum to use in the event of a power outage. We've had so many potential hurricanes this year, always accompanied by long power outages. I like the idea that it comes with a remote control. So if she's sitting in her living room chair and the power goes out, she can just reach out and turn on the candles. You can set them to flicker like a real candle or just stay on all the time. You can set a timer, which I think would be nice if her power actually went off, where she could just turn them on long enough while she's awake and then turn them off at night after she's gone to sleep without the batteries are empty. On the other hand, although I bought them for practical reasons, they are very attractive for decoration. By the way, I thought I saw in the description or in the photos that it came with batteries, but it doesn't. Although I didn't mind much. The price was great.
