I have two sons (1.5, 3.5) and we are moving from Tennessee to California so I bought two of them for a very long trip to the we go do. We had a short 4.5 hour trip recently so I took this and our youngest son loved it. I had to wait for him to fall asleep to put it on, but he slept with it on for about an hour and a half and then sat and watched a movie for 20 minutes without asking if he wanted to take it off, so it must have been comfortable . I tried putting it on my oldest son when he fell asleep and he woke up freaking out. I'll try again but I'll settle for 1 out of 2! They look like neoprene filled with small balls and are very light. I haven't had to clean them or anything like that yet. They also match our car seats perfectly, so that's a nice bonus.
