overall it's a great processor at a good price in an Intel-dominated world. It has no competition in terms of performance, especially in terms of mixed workload and even gaming. Has some pros: - Multi-threaded performance on par with i7-6900K ($1049.99) - Single-threaded performance on par with Broadwell-E - For 38% of the price of a direct competitor - Better value for money compared to the 6C/12T i7 6800k which is much more expensive but noticeably lagging behind in performance - aesthetically pleasing design that gives the impression of a unique product - With current generation GPU compared to Intel at high resolution (>2560x1440). Got cons: - Inconsistent performance compared to direct competitor (Broadwell-E) in most games where FPS is not capped by graphics card power (>1920x1080) despite competitive IPC in benchmarks, suggesting optimization potential. - Simultaneous multithreading affects performance due to Windows scheduler.
