I have a 2001 Schwinn Homegrown that I bought new and I love it. The bike lived an active life until around 2010 when road bikes took over. A few weeks ago I decided to set up my trusty homegrown so I can use it again. While servicing the original muffler, I found that the internals were not in good condition to be restored. I took my bike to the shop and was told that getting new shocks for these old bikes is not easy. Did a little research and came across these air shock absorbers. If you have an older MTB with 26" wheels that is worth a rebuild/upgrade, make sure your tube carrier is 1" and 1/8" and try this front suspension. My original suspension was also Rockshox, but with coil springs. This air spring isn't top end, so not a huge improvement over my original, but it's better and it's so easy to add air as needed for the rider's weight. My bike is back where it belongs!
