Great fork for the money

Bought for my Schwinn Rocket 88 01 conversion project. I've been running my trusty Schwinn S-30 for years with a Judy XC hydraulic fork and this air fork outperforms the Judy. I paired it with a Fox Float R shock and the Rocket came alive. Great fork for the money, it has handled everything I've done with it so far and I don't ride lightly. Installation was easy, but if you've never cut it before, get instructions online or visit a bike shop for installation.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Having trouble

Save your 90s MTB to Sports

Just bought this and absolutely love it. I can't comment on the durability of the fork, but this is an update on many older non-lockout forks. I had a rebuilt Marzocchi in good condition that was 20 years old and had no blockage, it worked great for the descent but the ascent was terrible. If you've got one of the millions of '90s MTBs that came with a shock absorber fork that's now fried and beyond repair, this is the fork. Unfortunately, Rockshox has discontinued this fork (looks like it's…

Great upgrade for an old XC bike

Need a new fork for my nephew's 2001 Giant NRS bike. He got the bike as a gift from another family member and had a very old broken 130mm RockShox fork with no compression adjuster. The new fork is a perfect match, air spring, compression, rebound, plus a 1-1/8 straight steerer and QR9 axle to work with the wheelset on the bike. It can use train brakes or disc brakes, we use Shimano hydraulic brakes instead to replace the old Avid BB7 brakes. I hope he has a few more years to work with the bike

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • poorly thought out

New Life for an Old Soldier

Replaced the SR Suntour Mag 32 fork that was on my 2010 GT Marathon. I had to cut about 2 inches off the head tube to get the right fit. Other than that, it was a VERY easy replacement. I used the old steering column bearings that were still in there. not installed because it must be done AFTER the steerer tube is the correct length. You may need to cut yours off as well. delivered. It has a locking function and an adjustable rebound. So far it's worked well and met my needs, but on the trail…

Can't ask for more from a cross country fork

Best value if you're upgrading an old mountain bike. It's limited to older bikes as it has straight handlebars. This fork turned my 90's Judy into a fun and fast one with coil springs. It has adjustable air pressure. Dial with adjustable damping. Lockable for efficient pedaling on flat and smooth surfaces. It makes my Rock Shox Pluto ($600) look cheap. For some installations it is necessary to shorten the stem of the fork. I sell a pipe cutter for $8-$15 at Home Depot. You may need additional 1

  • Consistent test results

  • Some cons

Really low price Fully adjustable front fork

Added this for a cheaper KHS Alite 50 bike that I converted to an e-bike. This conversion made the bike capable of going over 20 mph at moderate pedaling settings. There's a reason e-bikes with a Suntour TXC front fork are limited to over 17 mph. This bike handled moderate bumps fairly well. This fork was a significant improvement over the original fork. With air-adjustable weight and rebound, this fork made this bike a lot more manageable. Before this update, this bike could get very…

  • That's great

If you still use V-Brake you need this shock/fork. Plus it just works

When my SID Air could no longer be repaired, I realized that forks with rim brake mounts were no longer manufactured. But they do. This is the one and you can use it with disc brakes too. The price is about the same as rebuilding an existing shock if an overhaul were available and the shock could be rebuilt. Do I notice a difference? In my opinion yes, but I'm going through the same thing and more with about the same comfort as before. It has a lock, I have to bend over and flip the lever to do

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Great upgrade for older MTBs

I have a 2001 Schwinn Homegrown that I bought new and I love it. The bike lived an active life until around 2010 when road bikes took over. A few weeks ago I decided to set up my trusty homegrown so I can use it again. While servicing the original muffler, I found that the internals were not in good condition to be restored. I took my bike to the shop and was told that getting new shocks for these old bikes is not easy. Did a little research and came across these air shock absorbers. If you…
